Getting enough protein in

My son is vegan and sometimes cooks a vegan meal for us. I don’t eat much read meat at all but I like chicken, pork and fish. I often have a vegetarian meal so eating vegan doesn’t really bother me because the meals are so delicious.

It hasn’t been a problem. I usually substitute mushrooms for meat.

I’ve actually never had a problem. A proper vegetarian/vegan meal should be decent & satisfying 🙂 Plenty of recipes available online, and so much variety

Getting hubby to eat it 🙁 No matter how yummy it is, he just can’t cope with just vegetables as a main meal

Having variety and substance can sometimes be a challenge and not wanting every meal to be the same.

My quiches are always vegetarian there is that much flavor from the veggies and spices I use that their is no need for meat. As long as you use good ingredients to add what you would get out of the meat there is no need to eat an animal. We only have meet twice a week in our house and usually it’s my hubby and son that have it. Find a great vegetarian cook book of foods you love to each and you won’t turn back.

Trying to come up with different things that are still tasty and suitable for the whole family.

Getting my husband and kids to not be disappointed there’s no meat in it!

Theres lots of vegetarian meals now that taste so similar to the real thing, Lentil spaghetti bolognese, you wouldnt believe it wasnt mince! Also Eggplant parmigiana, sooo delicious.

The non-vegan (adults) sometimes make jokes about wanting beef etc. Other than that I think making sure there is enough protein is important in the main course (beans, chickpeas, tofu are staples!). Day after day the trouble comes with presenting that protein in different and attractive ways, without adding any bad sweet, sugary sauces etc. And if vegan leaves people who normally eat meat feeling ‘light’ then provide a nice filling desert (like oats and berries) so that afterwards everyone actually says ‘hey I’m feeling really satisfied. That was wonderful!’).

We have no problems with cooking vegetarian meals as they are so healthy and delicious and it makes a nice change!
