We have an LG 10kg washing machine. It is great. The cycles are longer, but the delayed start feature is awesome. It got good reviews on Choice, too.

For more then 10yrs I have a Samsung now and it’s still going strong and survived 3 moves and am positive about it. It washes on cold water as well.

I went over to front loaders about 14 years ago and won’t go back to top loaders anymore. We have a Bosch and I’m really happy with it. You can store things on top which is a bonus and it’s water wise which is really important when you are doing lots of loads. It’s a 7kg and I can fit heaps in it. It’s still going strong after 9 years and gets used every day. There are lots of settings for different loads and you can adjust the water temperature and rpm fir the spin cycles.

We got a Bosch. Really like it, has been gentle on clothes compared to older top loader
Bit more pricey but we got it on sale.
I did have a resuable breastpad that got stuck in the machine (in a part that takes out dirty water) but my husband could pull something off and get it out. So I wash baby socks and breastoads in wash bags now.

Our Kleenmaid is large and we can wash doonas and heavy loads.
It has a range of cycles and we find it to be economical and good on the budget.

We have a Kleenmaid front loader washing machine and we love it!
It is efficient and economical and gives a good wash every time.

Definitely look for one with an option to pause the load and add things in the early stages i am forever finding extra socks to add after i have started the wash

I have a Bosch front loader. I think it’s about 6-7kg and I can fit heaps in it! I remember when I purchased it that they guy suggested it fits about 6 towels (I’m sure I can fit more in!). The only drama I’ve had, and is common with all front loaders, is the seal at the front near the door can get yuck due to stagnant water sitting in it. Otherwise my Bosch front loader is great!

Bear in mind that you have to bend down to put washing in and pull the washing out in a front loader washing machine. When it starts to take in water you can’t open the door and put more washing in. Also keep your laundry door shut at all times once your baby starts crawling. I know of one strong baby who got the door open and climbed in. Some washing machines have a “child lock” in them. The same applies to clothes dryers which are better if you can put them on a sturdy cupboard or mounted onto the wall. I know one person who is short in stature and put the dryer upside down to reach the controls. It still worked perfectly.

I’ve always had a top loader washing machine but am looking to start my daughter on cloth nappies and have read that front loaders are best for washing MCN and can heat there own water. Anyone have a front loader washing machine they love? And how big is it?

Any ASKO product is amazing. The front loader washing machine I bought from Asko is amazing. It is gentle on your clothes, has many different cycles and is . very quiet. It uses minimal water. I know its a little pricey, but it really looks after your clothes and they always come out very clean and they are never damaged. I wash everything in it, even doonas and delicates.

I have an LG Direct drive front loading machine and I highly recommend it. It has no pulleys or belts to go wrong, takes up to 10kg of washing and it has a sensitive water level so that it only uses as much as is required so you save water too. It has a 1400RPM drying cycle and the washing is almost dry when yiu remove it from the machine. Hope this helps.

Yes l recently bought a FL Washing Machine/Dryer combo.
I have used mainly top loaders in the past but I’m finding my new FL fantastic.
Is so gently on everything.
Saves on water.
And yes it only runs on cold water (1 hose) but has a heater to warm water if you so desire.
Washing is done with half a capful of liquid detergent and smells and looks great.
