I’ve got to say that if this was happening to my child, I’d be visiting emergency daily till they did some tests. It is not normal.

Jumping up and down for sure. I think hospitals sometimes forget they have people on a waiting list. Let the specialist know things have worsened and hopefully they’ll bump you up the list. Also see your gp again and get them to alert the specialist that things have worsened. Fingers crossed for you

I had a similar problem with my son and it was as they have told you….it was a heamorroid. They explained that it was like one of those long skinny balloons that when you blow them up, they form a bubble in a particular place before the rest of the balloon is inflated….this spot is a weak spot. They have prescribed laxatives so that your son isn’t straining and putting pressure on the weak spot. My sons problem sorted itself over time but other than that it may require a minor op to remove the heamorroid. Hope this eases your concern!

haemorrhoids aren’t usually bad but they are uncommon for children does he have enough fibre in his diet also they can be caused by diarrhoea so be careful with laxatives. another cause could be… well i know you don’t want to think about it with him only being 11 but could he be experimenting (sexually) with putting things in his bum?
he might be to embarrassed to admit it to you or to a dr while your there.

definitely make sure he gets seen by specialists for the problem though as they can become serious. very serious.

You need an answer and I’d be asking to see a specialist. Apart from anything else, your son shouldn’t be losing so much blood. I hope this is sorted out soon.
