Hello!

My husband is keen to buy a Dishwasher but I really think they are not worth the money. As I still love to do my own cleaning of dishes and stuff. So are Dishwashers worth the money

  • I love my dishwasher and it was one of the first things I brought when I built my house. It can take a few days to fill but that is ok as I can turn it on when I leave the house and in pack it when I return. It saves so much time not having to do dishes.

  • I use the dishwasher when I have a huge crowd here but other then that i just wash my own dishes by hand

  • I hardly use the dishwasher as I wash up as I go. My husband would use it all the time if up to him. I would imagine though that if the family were all still at home and there were more of us I would be tempted more often. I love it at Xmas when everyone is here.

  • at my previous house we had a dishwasher, I didn’t actually use it regularly, I prefer hand washing.

  • If you enjoy washing dishes then don’t buy one. I hate washing dishes so I love my dishwasher! They’re handy because I like that I can add to it and flick it on when it’s full. I hate washing up dishes when there are just a couple of things but I don’t want to leave them lying around either. Dishwasher means I can pop things in as they’re dirtied and keep them out of site

  • If you love washing dishes then I wouldn’t bother buying one. I’m allergic to dish soap so for us it’s definitely worth it!

  • We have a dishwasher and i have not used it in 5 years. i love washing the dishes and prefer to just keep a small amount of crockery/cutlery in rotation rather than a whole dishwasher full.

  • Yes, the amount of water you are saving using one let alone the time effixiency of nit having to wash them yourself is amazing. You just have to rinse before you stack otherwise your dishes wont clean properly.

  • It’s handy but I hardly use mine. I don’t ever have a full load so washing by hand is quicker

  • I haven’t had one for about three years and personally haven’t minded going without it, I like washing the dishes and knowing they’re done straight away. They’re not a necessity when I’m looking for houses now

  • I think they are only worth it when you have a lot of dishes after a party etc. Its nice to just load them in and keep the kitchen looking tidier

  • I love my dishwasher and the fact that it saves water and money is a bonus. I bought a 2 drawer dishwasher which is even better for us. It has eco wash as well which also saves on power. Wouldn’t want to be without it.

  • If you like to wash the dishes then I do not think a dishwasher is right for you. I think they are a personal choice.

  • Definitely worth it! Being a family of 5 we use it all the time. Saves water and saves having to clean up after meals. I couldn’t live without one.

  • We have a dishwasher, but I very rarely use it … there’s only two of use so it only takes a few minutes to hand wash what we use. I should think it would be a boon for larger families as it would save a lot of time and water.

  • l personally think they are a waste of money aswell .Most of them don’t even clean the dishes propally . And the dish washer needs cleaning itself you tell your husband that if he wants one he is in charge of the dishwashing and the dishwasher itself that hopefully will change his mind

  • For me i thought the same before buying one. But i feel it save the water and time.

  • I have just gone a month without my dish washer and have missed it everyday. I am now so glad we have had our new 1 delivered as it saves so much water and time. Wouldnt want to go without for that long again

  • My dishwasher sat unused for 6 months. I didn’t see the sense in it, felt it was a waste and expensive to run. Well, I was so wrong. It is now what I refer to as my best friend. Everything can be cleared off the bench, it uses less water etc. I only wash when it’s full. I LOVE IT.

  • Yes they definitely are! But that’s because I hate washing dishes. Drying dishes then putting them away. And because I don’t have time!! They also save water compared to hand washing.
