Paving is a great option but can look really bad if not level. You need to prepare the base very well. Compacting the sand and making it really solid. (We put some pavers over existing concrete patio joining others over an area of compacted sand. The pavers on the concrete were so much better because of the better base). You also have to be careful with the edges and concrete those. Sand and grit can easily become loose in between the pavers, so look for tips to prevent that happenening.

Were you able to complete the paving job?

I haven’t done a paving job, but when I do tackle DIY jobs I alway watch Youtube videos to see how it’s done by the experts and they give it a go myself.

I’ve helped my parents and my brother. My brother also helped with my parents, he’s a trained paver, it helped having someone who knew what they were doing

I haven’t done a paving project, but I have done lots of other jobs around the house. Just do a lot of research before you start.

Me too! I picked up a brochure from Bunnings on DIY paving but have yet to do anything about it!
