I have found that some generic batteries are just as good as the expensive ones. Trial and error I guess.

Some toys have batteries with them others don’t. 2 issues. 1. sometimes adults let children open presents containing toys without supervision, no telling what little ones will do with the batteries if not being supervised. 2. Toys may have been in storage for awhile and batteries could either go flat or if they are poor quality could leak. They last a long time if toys have an on off switch. Just make sure they are swiched off when they aren’t being played with. I have one here that is about 2 1/2 years old. It still has the same batteries I put in. I make sure it is switched off when not being played with.

I used to think that too as when my kids were young I was constantly changing their toys batteries. These days the name brands such as Energiser is not cheap so I used to get them on special . Of course the ones you get at the bargain shops who carries the no name ones will not last as long because it is cheap . If it is a good toy or electrical item that you use everyday invest in good batteries because you will be sick of changing them frequently .

If you’ve found cheap ones that are fine, keep buying them! I like Duracell, but I’ve also bought rechargeable ones for things that use a lot of battery power

Yes l always use Duracell or Eveready as well!

My hubby insists on the Varta brand from bunnings they are in bulk but they are much cheaper than the brands and better quality.

The cheaper batteries are not strong enough for some things and simply don’t last long so are virtually false economy. I have found dheap ones in radios and torches last no time at all if you use the cheapies. Some brand haver suggestions printed on trhe back showing which ones they recommend for some items.

l always use Duracell or Everyready,especially the long life alkaline,they last the distance!

Everyday and Duracell would be my pick as the cheaper ones don’t last. Was interested in previous post that Aldi Brand was good, definitely worth a try.

I have gone for the rechargeables, generally means I have some on hand.

I think they are all a bit hit and miss. I’ve bought home brands and more expensive ones and it truly seems to be the luck of the draw. Best to buy in bulk and have lots on hand as needed.

I vote to have all toys come with rechargeable batteries.

Everyready and Duracell work well.

There are different standards in the Eveready ones. The Aldi ones may have been made by Duracell anyway. All Generic brand products are made by normal manufacterers.( Including food). Or they may be equivalent to the Eveready Gold ones.

I’ve found that the ones from Aldi work really well. To me, they’re on par with Duracell. You can pick a 4 pack of AA up for around $2.00

I try to stick with well known brands like Eveready or Duracell as I’ve tried “homebrand” and found they don’t last. If you shop around they are often on special in bulk packs.
