Hello!

What is the best baby formula to use for my 5 month old? I use Bellamy’s Organic but it is quite pricy.

  • Honestly I think it’s whatever works for your baby! I got so overwhelmed looking at all the formulas and trying to choose the most organic one I ended up going with a goat milk one that was $40 a tin and it made my son sooooo constipated that I had to change. I am now using Karicare which is $18 a tin and he is thriving

  • I used Nan optipro, it was recommended by the midwives too

  • I think it’s a case of shopping round and finding one that agrees with bub and also fits into your budget

  • We used Aptamil Gold for my little guy. Never any problems and he used it for probably close to 9 months.

  • My first, I used Nan Gold as that’s what the hospital was using.
The second, we had to use S26 as he kept getting diarrhoea with Nan and also the hospital was using S26 at the time (apparently they swap between the two) so we continued on with that.

  • Karicare:)

  • I think the best formula is one that is constantly in stock so you don’t have to switch between brands. They all have the nutrients your baby/toddler needs.

  • You’ll be fine with any formula your bub will drink we have very strict rules around formula.

  • it depends on your baby – I used karicare for one and nan for the other. some people have also said the aldi one is really good. maybe see if you can get samples of a couple to decide?

  • I can’t really advice you, but maybe this article may help

  • We use Karicare. Very affordable.

  • We mixed feed and found that our bub only liked NAN HA.

  • Unless your baby has allergies or other special needs, most formulas should be perfectly okay for them. Just try a few to find one they like.

  • I think they are all the same basically because the have to meet high standards. I used Nan Comfort 1 and later on 2 for my twins. I always stocked up when on special.

  • Aldi mamia was great til they stopped it :(
I switched to optigold formula from chemist warehouse. Affordable in comparison to everything else at $22 per tin.

  • In Australia the standards are so strict that all formula is the same high quality so I go buy budget and get SMA infacare. I have never had a problem with this formula and all my babies took to it well (we mix feed).
