Hello!

Hi MoM’s, I’m looking at making and selling desserts. Just wondering what courses would be best for learning how to make desserts beyond a basic sponge cake and what else would I need to do to be able to bake/make and sell from home without running into issues and so it’s legal/safe etc.

  • Hey get in touch with your local council they can help! :)

  • There are heaps of online ones on Udemy, etc or you can also apply for some in the CBD as well. If you google dessert online classes, there are heaps based on flexibility to help you work around things at home too

  • YouTube is your best friend here, that’s how I learnt how to bake!

  • Good on you this sounds like a great idea but not sure I know of any dessert making courses. If you are in the city perhaps they have some courses there? Or ask around at some restaurants sometimes chefs will do it

  • Definitely youtube if doing by yourself but yes tafe have certificates in patisserie/pastry chefs

  • Have you tried to watch YouTube videos?

  • oh I don’t have advice but I’m here to read them as I would love to complete a cause for this

  • I would google it. There’s so many cooking options on YouTube. I think you need some sort of council permission to make and sell food. The premises you cook them in would need to pass health and safety standards

  • My first go would be Tafe, they have a baking and patisserie course
