Hello!

I have been looking at purchasing a steamer for my work clothes and have looked at many reviews and still can’t decide. I always said I would never buy clothes that needed ironing or steaming but somehow I have. I would love to hear your thoughts on brands that you think are great and not so great.

  • I’ve never used a steamer but have been seeing them pop up a lot lately. Being a Mum that absolutely hates ironing I was thinking it might be worth a try. I’ll be following the responses here to see what might be good to try. It’s good for other opinions.

  • I’ve never had the chance to try one out but am also interested – following this chat!

  • Cant say ive tried many to really compare but i own a Phillips steamer that was purchased from JB Hi fi. I love that it’s lightweight which means my arms dont get tired using it. It works a treat and has never let me down. The gorgeous colour is also a bonus!

  • I have the anko handheld steamer from kmart. It was only $40 and works exceptionally. I hate ironing things and this steamer works great at getting creases out. Its convenient, heats quickly, is portable and easy to use. Even my husband helps me with steaming cause its husband friendly too haha

  • I personally use the Conair Turbo ExtremeSteam; steam heats fast, wrinkles come out reliably, and it doesn’t leak if you tilt or turn it. It’s easy to handle and feels robust enough for regular use.

  • Good steam performance, versatile with attachments, user-friendly.

  • I have never used a handheld steamer, so can’t offer specific advice. But have you tried simply hanging your clothes in the bathroom while you shower? I used to do that when travelling for work, and it’s surprising how effective that can be. It’s worth trying, as it’s also a cheap option.

  • I’ve been using the Phillips 3000 handheld steamer for a year now and like it. I bought it because it’s so compact and easy to take on the road. Before that I had a cheapie from Kmart. It was okay, but required more time. I now use it for cleaning around the bathroom and kitchen

  • Sorry I can’t really advice you on this. I once had a clothes steamer which looked like a ironer, similar to the second option in this article. However I hardly used it and sold it on Ebay. Personally I’m happy to use my steam ironer and actually do so every day. It may be good to google various options and reviews.

  • This sounds so wonderful and I would love to have one but have no idea how it is used. Is it on google and can you learn from there? I find so many fancy things are out there to be used, but it is awfully hard to get around to using them correctly and steam can burn so much.

  • I use the Phillips steam garmet cleaner and I love it. You can’t fit much water in it probably enough to do one dress or garmet properly. In saying that if it had more water capacity it would be very heavy to hold. Overall I am happy with it and have used it for 4 years.
