Hello!

So I need a new mobile phone plan. I’m overwhelmed by the choice. I don’t really want a mobile phone but have got used to the (now obsolete) Virgin deal where you could send unlimited text (to another Virgin user), make a few calls before your credit expired (like 2 or 3 a year for me). It was $15 for 6 months. I am overwhelmed by choice. What plans have you found that work for you? And any similar to this ‘basic deal’ where you really only have the phone for emergencies.

  • I am a little like you ..use my phone for the occasional phone call but text a bit. I have an Optus prepaid.

  • i don’t use a mobile phone but my husband uses Vodaphone pre-paid and he’s happy with it.

  • Living rurally, we have no option but to use Telstra. We do get a few account credits by bundling our internet, home phone and mobile plans tho

  • It can be overwhelming and I would suggest going to stores and reading all fine print on deals. They will have information you can take away and digest in your own time.

  • Go to JB HI FI and talk to someone there, they are good at giving you your options across all companies.

  • I live in regional WA and I don’t have much choice. I am with Telstra on a casual mobile plan. 25 dollars a month with just 200 mega data. But with other companies there is a terrible reception. Even if there are surely a lot of better deals out there, in particular if you live in big cities.
