Depends what you are looking for. Fremantle is great but it’s a reasonable commute to the city and it’s expensive. There are lots of great suburbs but depends if your focus is night life/places to eat, location near the beach or city or school focus. My rule is get the paper or watch the local news and you’ll quickly see the suburbs to avoid. I moved to Perth and two suburbs were constantly on the news at the time. This really works for wherever you move though high crime suburbs will always be on the news.

Fremantle, Aubin Grove, Success. They’re nice areas.

Peary would be a lovely place to live but from what I have heard house prices are ridiculous

My daughter lived in Spearwood and Palmyra – both nice areas.

I’ve never been to Perth, but I’d love to – it looks beautiful!

Joining facebook pages is also a good way to get in touch with people living in areas so you can ask about facilities for your child etc.
