Hello!

Hi everyone,
I’m a mum of two young kids, and lately I’ve been trying to simplify my morning routine. Most days I barely have time to do more than basic skincare before running out the door for school drop-off, errands, or work. I was thinking a tinted moisturiser might be the perfect in-between — light coverage, a bit of hydration, and maybe some SPF.

I’ve read a few reviews on sites like Allure, Byrdie, and NY Times Wirecutter, but the options are overwhelming. Some have SPF built in, others claim to be more hydrating, and a few are better for sensitive skin.

My main priorities are:

Feels lightweight, not heavy like foundation.

Gives a natural look without looking shiny or patchy.

Doesn’t irritate skin (I have mild dryness).

Works well for quick application with fingers or a sponge.

I’m not here to promote anything — just hoping to hear from other moms who have found something they love using day to day.

If you have a favourite tinted moisturiser, I’d love to know:

How it holds up during a busy day.

If it works well with minimal makeup.

Whether it’s good for different seasons (I live in a place with hot summers and dry winters).

Thanks in advance for sharing your suggestions — real experiences from other mums are always more helpful than just reading online reviews.

  • I really like the Revlon Illuminance serum tint – it’s light, it looks great, and it does good things for my skin. It comes in a range of shades, and it’s not too expensive. It’s worth trying. Or else the Body Shop has a nice light moisturiser that adapts its’ color to your skin. That’s quite nice too.

  • My suggestion is BB creams. I’m loving Garnier BB Cream in medium. It’s light, moisturising and covers fairly well without being heavy like a normal foundation. It also has SPF which is important these days. There are 2 types. I love the anti-aging one which smooths over fine lines with ease. The price is great too.

  • Along with my comments earlier below about using a moisturiser and a foundation; it is also important to have products for my skin with SPF. It is such a good idea to read lots of product reviews and make an educated and informed decision about products for individual skin types.

  • Try bb creams…best investment…Garnier and Nivea bb creams are good and economical

  • What about a BB Cream?
Garnier have a range of BB Creams for various skin tones and they also have some with 25SPF. There are some containing anti aging properties also.
Ive been using their BB creams for a few years now and they apply easily with the fingers and they last all day.

  • It’s not a tinted moisturiser but I love using Fenty Powder Foundation on top of my favourite mineral SPF. I’m yet to find a BB cream or tinted moisturiser that actually does anything that compliments my skin. I find the lack of colour range really hard to work with, and streaky results. Hope you can find something that works for you

  • I used to use a tinted moisturiser from BB but found my skin needed quite a lot of moisture. It was good and cost effective and easy to use and apply to skin. I now use lashings of Vitamin E cream and also apply my favourite light and easy foundation for overall coverage.

  • I’m not sure if it is what you would like but I regularly use sun sense tinted moisturiser.
It’s worked a charm for me. It’s light, goes on like a moisturiser but with the benefit of sun protection. It doesn’t feel at all like foundation but does make skin look clean and glowing.

  • I have been using Garnier BB Cream Classic it’s a All-In-1 perfector that covers, evens, corrects, illuminates and protects with SPF 15. I have loved this product in Classic Light colour tone for 30 years. I have people who tell me my facial skin is lovely. I like the light coverage that lasts all day. I do like that the ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid & Aloe Vera and SPF15 for sun coverage, just enough for everyday use. I buy this from most supermarkets and Chemists and it’s very affordable.

  • I used rationale skin tint while i was recovering from laser. It was awesome. Light weight and gentle but evened my skin tone. It is pretty pricey though so I did not continue with it.
I have used NARs foundation before and highly rated it. I know they have a tinted moisturiser as well.
I have also recently brought some Mecca brand products that are more affordable but competitive quality with main stream brands. I know they have a tinted moisturiser but not something I have tried.
The staff at Mecca have always been super helpful in recommending products and always happy to provide a sample so I can trial it before I open the big product. I think there is a guarentee if you do not like it too.
