Birthday party ideas for a 7 year old - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

I am trying to organise a birthday party for my girl who is turning 7 but i am struggling for ideas. She wanted a fairy party but they don’t have any availability. I would love to hear some ideas from other mums with daughters of similar ages and what you have organised.

  • Can you make a DIY fairy party? Is the party at a venue? Party stores or even those cheap chains sell cheap fairy wings, wands, shoes etc at a low price. Adding some glitter, greenery like flowers and vines can also create a fairy like theme. Pinterest will be your best friend in this case, even offering food ideas! We did a princess party a few years ago and the food I remember was wand like (star shaped fruit skewers) etc. Good luck!

  • If she has her heart set on a fairy party, create a fairy garden theme in your backyard! Let the kids create fairy gardens, have a picnic tea party, dress ups, and fairy themed games.

  • My daughter just turned 7 and we did a gymnastics party at the local gymnastics centre and it was a huge hit! We did a kpop demon hunters theme with cake and plates etc! We went to a few parties for her friends – and mermaid theme at home with a facepainter and old school games like pass the parcel, timezone party, a discount party at a local hall and one was a “kidchella” party where they got their hair braided, made bracelets and had a dance party. All were equally as good:)

  • What about an ‘Under the Sea’ party at the local pool or ocean baths (if you have some nearby) – you could have ocean or beach themed decorations, an Ariel cake – I made one of these with a dolly varden cake form, it was pretty simple as I suck at cake decorations!

  • Oh how fun! Around that age we did a Barbie party and home for our daughter. Luckily there was lots of Barbie party stuff available and we did the traditional games – pass the parcel, pin the glasses on Barbie etc if your daughter likes fairies you could do some plaster painting or even have each child make a Little fairy garden or fairy house for thier garden. Plenty of cute ideas on Google. Goodluck I hope she has a wonderful party
