I believe it is just to show you what level you are to and it can be exciting reaching the next level but has nothing to do with prizes.

I am not sure about the jewels, I think initially to show how active you are on the site. I do not believe there is any reward for the type of jewels, none that I am aware of on this site.

I think its more just to show them you are a regular/existing MoM member. I joined aaaages ago but then forgot my log in password so could never contribute to anything. Once I’d remembered it, I went from Ruby to Diamond in the one month and won a book for the monthly prize. I don’t think the jewels have any bearing on those prizes as you still have to be in ‘the red section’ to be considered, even then its not guaranteed you will win anything as there are limited prizes compared to the number of MoM members. I just answer and contribute for the fun of it now, not to earn an points/prizes.

I think they’re just to keep new MoMs interested. When I first joined, I used to set out to get to the next level and next level. Then I became a diamond and that was that. So I don’t see the relevance of the jewels anymore, I don’t even think I got anything when I went up a level. An email telling me about it maybe
