Hello!

Struggling big time for ideas on gifts for my 13 year old son! Would love to know what others are thinking for their own teen boys!

  • My 13 yr old still loves playing with slime when he’s not on his ps5. I usually also gift things that are an outdoor activity if some sort for us to do together.

  • X box with games, basketball hoop with basket ball, football / soccer training net with ball, skate board, skooter, furniture for in the room, indoor pet like mice or lizard, turtles or snake for in the bedroom

  • Books, books, and more books for my son! That and lego are all he wants.

  • When buying for your own child it is harder if you have younger ones who still believe in Santa.
We usually ask our kids what they would like. It depends what is on the list and how many items there is which we choose. With a 13 year old you may be able to find out the preferences.

  • I have two 13yo nephews for Christmas one is onto gaming and we are getting him some gaming presents which include a “steam” credit (vouchers are sold for that) also he has a new gaming chair, gaming keyboard & mouse, sound cancelling headphones on his list.
The other is more outdoorsy and I am getting him a “beach pack” he wears surf brands so I will give him a Quiksilver towel, bag, hat, thongs, shirt, shorts & water bottle, along with a new quicksilver wallet I will also add in sunscreen wireless earbuds & an iTunes voucher or similar so he can download music to his phone and surfboard wax as he surfs.

Other things I considered were Japanese Snack & Candy boxes (ebay), experience vouchers (like surf lessons, red balloon voucher, movie tickets etc) also cash is always a big hit with teens that age, merchandise from any YouTubers/social media influencers they may follow.

I have done “movie hampers” in the past – made up a snack hamper in popcorn boxes and added in a voucher for HOYTS.

  • Also enrolment in a hobby or activity of interest.

  • wireless earphones,

  • Depending on his interests and your budget : Lego Architecture kit; NFL Board game; Drone; Car construction kit; Fortnite monopoly; Skateboard; remote controlled car/boat/plane; Air hockey table; Hoverball; Watch.

  • A voucher and a shopping outing together.

  • If he is a kid that likes the outdoors perhaps a basketball, skipping rope, small weights if he wants to get fit etc. Otherwise nowadays there is a voucher for just about everything from clothes to games, books board games.

  • Does he play Minecraft? If he doesn’t, you could give him a voucher for that.

  • Try to find what he likes /hobby or some voucher for activity during holidays like gokarts or bowling ?

  • A skateboard with the necessary body pads is one idea. Lego technic could be a winner.

  • General ideas – a bike or something for outside. Books as part of a book series he likes. Updating the wardrobe. Good luck
