Hello!

Hey ladies, I have noticed my washing machine has mould starting to grow in the seams. What would be the best way to get rid of this and clean my washing machine as well?Usually I leave my door open for it to air dry, but last time I forgot I had a load of washing and it sat in their for a couple of days.

  • I just recently ordered wash warrior tablets. Whatever way you use I think it’s important to clean your washing machine at least monthly. Leave the door open after every cycle. Go with a cloth around and under the rubber after every cycle as lots of mould can build up there

  • I do once a month a washing circle (no wash added) with bicarb of soda & vinegar on the highest temperature possible & also clean the soap trays. Make sure you keep the door open of your washing machine after every wash

  • vinegar is a miracle!

  • i used this stuff that i bought from woolies.

  • Awesome seems vinegar is the way to go thanks heaps ladies.

  • I wash my machine with a vinegar wash about once a month. I add a cup to the water (hot) and it seems to work great.

  • Vinegar is definitely the way to go. I have used this and it works well. It is also a fabulous and cheap fabric softener. There is no vinegar smell to the clothes afterwards.

  • Thanks will give the vinegar a try. :)
How often should I be giving my washing machine a clean?

  • I agree vinegar and hot water does the trick!

  • Totally agree with mum90758. Vinegar and hot water

  • What would the quanties I use?
Would the bleach be added straight? And into my detergent dispenser? Same with the vinegar?

  • I also do this with my machine every two months or so to prevent build up..

  • i would use some white king in a load but with nothing in it other than just water. After it has done the full cycle while still wet i would give it a wipe out with a dry cloth.

  • I don’t think I have ever cleaned my washing machine. Ooops! Definitely going to be looking for answers to this as well.

  • Clean the seams using hot water and vinegar. To clean the all washing machine they advise to run a full cycle adding 2 cups of white vinegar to the detergent dispenser.
