Our current cubby house doesn’t have a flkoor, but our previous one had. We had a doormat inside, curtains, a wee table & chairs, some pillow, books and kitchen & tea set
We keep all outdoor play areas easy to clean; floor that is easy to wash and keep clean. In fact all surfaces are easy to clean. Asking the children what they want in a cubby house is always good; they have such good ideas.
If you’re looking for lights the solar ones should be alright, and mostly weatherproof. I probably wouldn’t recommend carpet as it’ll likely get wet and go bad. You could try some rubber mat type flooring. Maybe check out kmart or bunnings, and then look up best pricing on Google.
We added a few things to our kids cubby. A whiteboard, a pull out clothesline (from the cubby to the fence), and because it was near the fence, in a corner about a metre or two out, my husband put in a sloping roof carport. My favourite addition was we added a water tank. The kids had their own water supply to use for any outside play. The water collected off the cubby roof.
There are some fabulous ideas on Pinterest! We have just moved into a house that has a great cubby that needs some updating – I’ve been getting some great ideas from pinterest!
