Hello!

Are no detergent washing balls good? I’ve heard about these no detergent washing balls that you just pop in with your wash to clean your clothes – no detergent added! Has anyone tried these? Where do you get them from and are they any good? Could they clean really dirty kids clothes for example with stuck on food? Would love to hear from others on this.

  • I haven’t seen these at the shops.

  • A lady mentioned Diesel Mechanic’s clothes. If the guy has used sylastic sealant (it’s like glue) you may need to scrape some of the surplus off first. The only thing we found that gets those clothes near clean is plenty of Rinso powder. That’s what my Mum used on my Dad’s overalls. The grime off them makes a mess of the bowl in your washing machine so you need to clean it thoroughly or it will be on your next load of washing.

  • I haven’t seen these and I doubt I would use them. I definitely need to see soap in the washing machine to feel that my clothes are being cleaned well.

  • Not hurt of balls, but I have seen the new ones out where they are in separate little bags and you just put one in the washing everytime . It doesn’t sound economical and would stick with the liquid or powder .

  • Never heard of them and never seen them!

  • I bought some off tvsn, and nope they dont do anything. Nothing on kids clothes or hubbys diesel mechanic clothes. I was really disappointed. Ah well live n learn

  • I’ve never tried them and I won’t. Ask yourself this, would you use one to clean yourself in the shower or wash your dishes without using soap or detergent?

  • they don’t seem to work really well on getting stains out (that was my experience anyway)

  • I’ve never used them but I’ve heard others feedback who swear by them!

  • there are some good comments here

  • im interested i have never tried them

  • Some good advice there below.

  • I’ve heard people raving about soap nuts!

  • We get a lot of stains in clothes so I don’t think soap nuts are for us.

  • I’ve never used them either

  • I’ve seen them on a couple of eco websites and was wondering the same thing. Will be reading through the comments

  • I haven’t heard of them, but I have used soap nuts before though they struggle at removing stains and cleaning my partners dirty work clothes.

  • Did you end up using the no detergent washing balls or something else?

  • I don’t know about these but I hope you find out the answer

  • I saw these on sale at my local hardware store. Down to $10 from $50! Thought I’d give it a go. Seems to work but doesn’t remove tough stains.
