Hello!

I was just wondering what an easy DIY present would be for my 3 year old daughter to make for her pop for his birthday? I want something that isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg but something that he will love.

  • A handmade card and a potted plant would be great.

  • A rock painted as a paper weight, tin can decorated and painted for a pencil holder or print out a calendar and let her drawer pictures for each month

  • I would set all your crafty things on a table and let her go for it. You’ll be surprised with what she’ll cone up with, it will be a one if a kind and let’s face it. Pops love anything the grandkids do

  • hand prints? some cooking?
    painting, drawing?

  • Its good to know you can buy inexpensive unpainted photo frames from craft shop! Good topic!

  • For my daughter’s first Fathers’ Day I made up a dough and did hand prints. Then I put in a low oven for a slow bake. Dad, GrandDad and GrandPa loved it!

  • We printed a ‘Pop’ poem, added a photo (of them together), added a hand print (either paint or paste a paper one) and framed it. He loves it :)

  • Tracing hands on something pretty in a frame… Some great ideas already. She can even make the wrapping paper by drawing / decorating it. Have fun:)

  • A special photo frame and card. These homemade craft treasures are always loved by grandparents.

  • She could paint a wooden photo frame & you could put a photo of her or the two of them in it. We did that for my folks & they loved it (my son is very proud of it sitting on their shelf).

  • truffles! in cellophane and a cute homemade basket/box

  • get her to create a picture or a painting or colouring and you can frame it.
Maybe some Plaster of Paris in moulds of shapes, characters or favourite animals and then she can paint them. Maybe even mould of her own hands, that would be a great keepsake.

  • See a post i put in art and crafts the name in the sand photo frame. Hope you like it.

  • My Dad cherished his pen holder that was made at preschool by my 3 year old ( painted paddle pop sticks glued onto a tin can) & still remains on his desk 33 years later!

  • A photo frame that is decorated by your child, with your child’s photo in the frame :)

  • You can buy inexpensive unpainted photo frames from craft shops that she could decorate and put a photo of them together in it.

  • A trinket box for grandad made from old photos, magazine clippings glued onto shoe box or ice-cream container.
