Hello!

I have an obsession with tealights, candles, oil diffusers and was wondering if many of you mums are the same. I feel it creates a lovely ambience and makes our home a HOME. Where do you burn them?

  • I used to love different candles, but not anymore since children…it’s just too dangerous.

  • I’ve recently read that the fumes from scented candles can be toxic. Worth checking out.

  • I only light candles for two reasons – either for a birthday, or to remember a loved one that has passed.

  • i love candles and in the evenings generally burn a couple of tealights in the living area. I don’t really use oil burners any more though as my husband doesnt really like the smell

  • I use an oil burner in my lounge/dining room and sometimes the hallway :)

  • I don’t use candles as I feel they are a fire hazard. Also, I once heard that the fumes released from scented candles are not good for you.

  • I too love candles for all the reasons previously stated. Now we live in Qld and have a mossie problem I mostly light citronella candles. The thing I love about recent fashions is the lamp style candle holders. We have a huge one from Pottery Barn which holds a massive church candle and as it has the glass dome it doesn’t blow out. We have Reject Shop candle jars with handles so we can hang them out of children and animal’s way. Scented candles don’t work so well as we always have doors and windows open but the ambience is wonderful and so cosy and restful.

  • I sure do! I love the scented candles, I think they bring warmth to the home and a lovely fresh scent

  • Ambiance for mums is such a luxury that should be taken!
Put them up high out of reach of little hands and make sure you do the same with the lighter/matches.
I use Bees wax candles with organic cotton wicks, made in Australia by QueenBee Candles.

  • Yes l love candles as well and it creates a lovely atmosphere.

  • yep. I put them in tealight holders and place them at all different levels around the house and in the bathroom. they are great :-)

  • Yes! I love my home to smell good and to have an inviting ambiance. I tend to use melts or diffusers more than candles for general day to day freshness, but you can’t beat a lovely candle for romantic dinners or at Christmastime!

  • I never used to like candles but I have grown to love them this past year. I love the beautifully scented soy candles. I also love my oil diffuser.

  • i have to wait until the kids are sleeping but i will burn them on my bedside table so i can supervise it also

  • I love burning tealights in winter time, in the living/dining room. They make the house so cozy and warm.

  • Yes we sure do :) My friend started a Candle business and I discovered melts. Now we always have melts burning and the house smells lovely. Some set off my hayfever but mostly they are OK. My husband is more into them than me lol ;)

  • We often burn candles at the dinner table for “romantic dinners” as my daughter says. I love the soft glow and it’s a great way to wind down and get ready for sleep time. We often also use them around the bathroom when the kids have a bath to help settle & calm them

  • I love candles when I have visitors as it gives a relaxing glow, but I always have reed diffusers in the house all the time.

  • I love and have a selection of tea lights, candles and burners. I have a beautiful collection of tea light/candle holders/burners. I love the sweet aroma throughout the house. I prefer subtle aromas and do not like overwhelming scents. I have walked into some homes where the diffuser is overwhelming and has assaulted my senses.

  • I use the green tealights that repel mosqitoes. I put them outside on window ledges, on the outdoor table at night and on top of the modular rainwater tank (in Summer). For safety reasons I don’t put one on top or the HWS. There are restrictions where I can put them because ot the children and the pets.
A relative of mine loves jasmine candles. I prefer lavender
