if you use quit covers then i cant see the use in a top sheet… i dont use a top sheet, only a fitted one… less washing for me! I keep the flat sheet out of sets and sew them into another fitted sheet, its easy enough to do and again saves me money…

A sheet accumulates any dander (dead skin), saliva etc. which would otherwise go on your doona cover, making it necessary wash your doona cover every week…or if sickness occurs more often. A sheet is easier to wash.

Yes always have sheets under them. Less things to wash and have to dry especially over winter and it acts as a barrier for the winter woollen blankets that go on too

I always use a sheet under the doona. Given the price of doona covers, it makes much more sense to be washing sheets regularly than doona covers, less fading and more life from your doona cover.
