Goosebumps. I have all of the originals except for one I lost (not the choose your own story ones). My son has read some of them.

I always loved Brer Rabbit as a child and Noddy couldn’t get enough of them! Great pictures full of colour made them more exciting!

I loved the Dr Seuss books as a kid. And I did buy a set for my kids and read over and over to them
