  • Keep eyes clean with saline! Wash hands after cleaning every time! Use new cotton buds for each wipe!

  • Definitely see a doctor as soon as possible or ring nurse on call for professional advice.

  • If your doctor thinks the pinkeye is caused by bacteria, he or she may prescribe antibiotic eyedrops or eye ointment to kill the bacteria. With antibiotic treatment, symptoms usually go away in 2 to 3 days. But antibiotics only work for bacterial pinkeye, not for the more common viral pinkeye.

Viral conjunctivitis is highly contagious. Most viruses that cause conjunctivitis spread through hand-to-eye contact by hands or objects that are contaminated with the infectious virus. Having contact with infectious tears, eye discharge, fecal matter, or respiratory discharges can contaminate hands.
Currently, aciclovir, trifluridine and valaciclovir are commonly used as antiviral agents to treat herpesvirus infections. I would prefer to have it checked when uncertain

  • Also conjunctivitis is highly contagious and reason to be send home from child care

  • If it’s not serious, warm salt water and wipe with cotton wool balls. Wipe from the inner of eye to the outer, only once. Use a new cotton ball for every wipe. If it’s serious, you will need a prescription from the Dr

  • Warm Black tea bags on the eyes.
    Works a treat

  • I’m not sure if this is right but trying a diluted salt and water mix with a warm compress may help

  • I always have Chlorsig 1% in house. You can buy it over the counter at the chemist and it comes in eye drops and cream. Make sure you have for each child their own drops or cream, no sharing. And I have a box of individual wrapped sterile eye wipes for cleaning

  • BLACK tea!! A strong cup of black tea (like a few bags) let cool, get a cotton ball, wipe inside out and then bin and repeat (this prevents recontamination) if nothing works see a GP

  • Take her to the Dr for anti biopics and some eye cream. You don’t want it to worsen

  • Breast milk works wonders – only good to you if breast feeding tho hehe (unless someone else squirts some Breast milk there

  • Cotton wool and warm salt water. Don’t reuse the cotton wool new peace every time.

  • Eyes are very sensitive areas so it is best not to guess and just take her to the doctors. It gets very itchy and swollen if it doesn’t get treated and she may rub them even more etc.

  • If you are breast feeding, squirt some breast milk into bubs eye.

  • GP is best! but there really interesting comments on this!

  • Yep, take her to your local Dr for a prescription. Don’t stuff around with eyes, get onto proper treatment ASAP.

  • Make sure you clean the eyes with a clean face cloth each time and get eye drops from the doctor and wash hands at all times

  • you need to get drops from the doctor.

  • wipe the eye with mild salt water with a cotton ball. Being sure to use a new cotton ball with every stroke.

  • You need to go to the doctors to get the eye treatment.
