Sure is ! My kids received regularly vouchers and were over the moon they could decide themselves how to spend it. They never wasted it !

How about you talk to their parents? Maybe they’d prefer to get the vouchers, and buy something for the kids on your behalf.

I think it depends on the child it self. My nephew is 6 but into things that I have no idea how to buy etc, but he also very smart and understands money very well.
On the other hand my niece and nephew I dont think they would get the joy of the gift card and my sister would probably be to slack to take them into the shops to use it so id send them gifts.
If I buy gifts I have a limit of $50 per kid.

I think vouchers are great ideas for people of all ages. If they’re toddlers, mum and dad can buy them something suitable. If in doubt, I think it’s best to send a voucher and let them choose a gift then wasting money on gifts and postage for possibly unwanted gifts

I think vouchers are fine but I know a lot of people who kick up a stink about it! I would prefer that my child got a gift voucher and was able to choose something for herself or that I could buy her something she actually needed with it, but that’s just me.
Have you thought about buying presents online and having them posted direct to the parents and asking them to wrap them? Sometimes you can get free shipping on some things or combined shipping at least to save a bit of money. Or alternatively, transfer money to the parents and ask them to buy something of your choosing, that way the thought of the present has come from you personally, but will also save you money on postage. Postage is just ridiculous these days. I’m sure family would understand.

between the ages of 3- 12 stick with a gift. gift cards or vouchers, are great for any other ages 🙂 if you really can’t think of a pressie, then give a voucher! i am sure that they will love it regardless!

I have read and heard about this too and companies make a lot of money from people not using vouchers! Plan to use them and write it down on a calendar/planner.

Yes, I agree. Time ago I was reading that a lot of people actually lost the value of their vouchers because they didn’t use them by the expire date. Something to be aware of. Giving money in cash could be a good alternative.

Vouchers are good as long as the parents are motivated and organised and will make sure the kids use them.

I agree it’s a wonderful idea indeed! A lot cheaper, and there is so much choice. Depending on the age of the kids, an iTunes voucher would be very appreciated. I would go with 20-30 dollars too.

I think vouchers are a great idea. I can’t tell you how many gifts my daughter was given that she didn’t like or want. Fortunately she now receives vouchers for bookstores, movies etc and she can chose books she likes or movies she’d like to see. I think $20.00 or $30.00 is more than enough.

I would think around the age of 5-6 is good for a voucher. I think vouchers are great presents. At least you know they will end up with something they like because they chose it themself. The amount would depend on their age. Work it out by estimating what you would spend on a gift + the cost of postage and go for around (probably less) that amount
