Hello!

Do I need the 3 or would other models be just as good and do you love it? I have seen people do amazing things with them and I REALLY want one!! But are they worth the $$$? Will I need to spend extra money on supplies besides the vinyl?
Thank you in advance. :)

  • Zmijka86 did you enter the competition? Good luck if you did!

  • mom462038 I’ve entered too…………it looks so good! Good luck. x

  • Oh I wish to have one.

  • No, but I’ve entered the comp on here to try win one

Thank you for your answer. I just want to label everything in the house. Get organised and stay that way. A friend just spent $1000 on the 3 and lots of bits and pieces but i couldn’t afford spend that much.

  • mom379710 I went to Spotlight for a look and they had so many gadgets and tools I would really need to research what I needed before I purchased. They still look so good!

  • The Maker 3 was designed for crafters running a business, essentially it’s their commercial machine. Also, you can only use the smart vinyl with a matt. So if you want to use any other materials you need to purchase a matt, as it does not come with any.
I definitely recommend the maker as the pro really don’t outweigh the price difference.

  • I too have also been researching. It is mind boggling with all of the different reviews etc, different models etc. I guess figure out what you want to do with it and go from there. I have done many crafts and like most, you can always spend money on more accessories, tools, supplies etc. Find out what you can do with what is in the box and then figure out what other costs are if you want to do further things.

  • HELP PLEASE! Saw this: “WIN a Cricut Joy And Materials Bundle Valued Up To $500!” entered and added emojis and they all turned into ??????. Can I delete my competition answer?

  • @Jessica ooh I haven’t heard of them! Are they cheaper and do they do the same thing?

  • I looked into this a couple months back and ended up with the Cameo Silhouette 3 – I have not regretted it

  • @Ellen it looks like a lot of fun and I think it’ll help the kids find their stuff easier without help. Well fingers crossed!

  • @mom481548 Thank for your reply. I thought it would be expensive to set up so I am trying to work out the cheapest way to do it by picking and choosing the most helpful materials without going over board. It sound like I’ll be saying for a while! Hahaha, I should have one by next Christmas if I start now.

  • Sorry I can really give advice, but it’s nice to read the answers and hear about your passion to get crafty !

  • Hi I have a Cricut Air 2 that is cheaper. You can make some amazing things .But it does get expensive when you purchase mats ,blades, pens, tips, cards, tools ect.
I have not had much luck with iron on items..
But glass items are easy and fun to do.
    Good luck getting crafty

  • @mom471452 Thank you for your reply. I get lost with how many extras you can buy so thank you for your advice. I am not really that tech savvy either so I have wondered how hard it would be to get started. I would definitely look for a group to join if I buy one!

  • I have a Cricut maker 3 but if you haven’t had Cricut before then I’d suggest getting the original maker as it has some tools and mats with it. It’s a downward spiral from there lol lots of money spent on crafting activities. I love mine and haven’t had any issues and there is a fantastic Cricut community on Facebook called Cricut for Australians :)
