Glad you had an ultrasound done and this was picked up !
Things you may want to ask your doctor are;
What is the likely cause of my fatty liver?
Do I have NASH? If not, how likely am I to develop NASH?
Do I have cirrhosis? If not, how likely am I to develop cirrhosis?
Do I need to lose weight? How can I do so safely?
Should I be taking any medication to control my cholesterol and triglyceride levels?
What medications or other substances should I avoid to protect my liver?
And in general, if you have fatty liver, and in particular if you have NASH, you should:
lose weight – safely. This usually means losing no more than half to one kilogram (one to two pounds) a week
lower your triglycerides through diet, medication or both
avoid alcohol
control your diabetes, if you have it
eat a balanced, healthy diet
increase your physical activity
get regular check-ups from a doctor who specialises in liver care.
yep – sure do. I have lost 50kg and there is still fat on my liver, but a lot less. The liver will heal itself but it takes time. Get some help and good luck
I have a very mild non alcoholic fatty liver. Dr was no help, couldn’t tell me why or how or what to do to fix it. It’s causing pain just under right rib cage, but Dr can’t help
I have a girl friend who has a fatty liver and it warrants a life style change. Healthy eating and exercise is important.
Google will be able to help.
Summary
Fatty liver disease (steatosis) is a build-up of excess fat in the liver cells. In some cases, fatty liver disease damages the organ and leads to serious complications such as cirrhosis. Risk factors for fatty liver disease include overweight and obesity, diabetes and elevated triglyceride levels. The damage caused by fatty liver disease can often be halted or reversed through simple lifestyle changes.
A friend of mine did and had a gall stone problem. Not sure if they are related. You might need to check your diet and make sure you are eating a clean healthy diet.I’ll also be interested to see what others say. Good luck.
Sorry, I haven’t and don’t know anyone personally that has, I’m interested to read what other Mum’s say if they’re had experience with this. Just like to wish you all the best and take care of yourself.
