Just clean the tiles every time you’re under the shower and you do avoid build up of soap scum

I use either bleach or vinegar in a spray bottle. I spray all the surfaces, leave for about 15 minutes and then wash off. If you do this once a week your shower should remain looking good.

For me personally, any type of soap or shampoo seems to build up on the tiles and shower screen. Even if I am careful, I have a husband and kids who aren’t
SO, I have invested in a couple of things. Firstly .. the Eco-friendly option: an Enjo glove. Once a week or so I run the glove over the screen and tiles while i’m having a shower and it keeps it scum free without chemicals.
My second option is also the bad-for-environment solution: I use Bam for the screen and tiles, and exit mould for the grout. I spray either or both chemical, wait a couple of minutes, and then while i’m showering I wipe over the shower with a kitchen scourer.

MOM112244, What car polish do you use. Some aren’t just polish they are actually “cut and polish”. There is a BIG difference in the “ingredients” in car polishes too.
Get advice about a sealer before you use it. Some have to be re-applied every 12 months or so. It may last longer. It depends how much your shower is used. It is possible that your hair products are building up scum too. Most of them have an oil in them. I am not sure whether you have to treat the previous layer of it in any way Some sealers also make the tiles less slippery. If you have to use a strong chemical to start off with Bam is one of the best. It will even clean an 89 year old marble headstone. You would only need a little bit. We needed more because it had accumulated all sorts of grime that we had missed cleaning of with just a brush and water over the years. It is also on a busy main road that is virtually a highway and the top of the headstone has a lot of grooves in it.
For normal bathroom use carbsoda and white vinegar is very good. It has to be the white one, not the pale one. We originally wiped our tiled and glass screen down with an old absorbant towel.

I have sprayed so much stuff in my shower over the yrs and I don’t think anything works so annoying I leave a scrubbing brush in the shower and scrub all the time, good luck

Wiping down the tiles with a squeegee after the last person helps greatly, I also use a clear shower product like shower sparkle after the last person, shower sparkle helps water droplets on the tiles to run down the wall along with soap scum.

I have been told that you can buy this tile and grout sealer and I think you put it on your grout and tiles and it stops the white grout going yucky. It is best to do it before you use the new shower. It costs about $60 per tin but it should be worth it! We have just had these lovely Italian tiles put in the shower that are glossy white and have a raised up wave pattern on them and they are 300mm x 600mm and go up to the ceiling! They look beautiful!

i see that you can get a water dispersing product for the car so i wonder how that would work in the shower

Wipe down the shower with a window squeegee after you finish. This helps it stay cleaner for longer..

I have a white remodelled bathroom too! I have got into the habit of using a hand held window cleaner after showering & that has helped keep it looking new.

I use soap not wash in our shower. I find that if you wipe over the tiles a few times a week they stay clean. I use gumption on any build up & morning fresh liquid on the glass.

Vinegar and bicarb. It is the best and no stinky bleach

Use only shower gels instead of soap as it is the soap scum build up that will dirty your tiles and grout quicker than normal.
I also have a brand new bathroom and it’s the first thing I bought before we started using it.

Soap scum definitely builds up but liquid body wash contains soap too.

before using your shower get car polish ,do it all over tiles ,polish and the scum wont stick

I use a pair of cheap loofah gloves and put them on to clean down the shower – works on the glass, walls and base.

Shower gels don’t leave much residue. I also keep a one of those scrubbers with dishwashing liquid filled inside the tube for quick clean ups during showering.

no idea but my husband uses soap and I don’t and his side of the shower always has white soap stains
