  • I like the baubles and pine cone ideas.

  • that sounds cool. would love to see a pic :)

  • Thanks again Mums. We ended up filling jars and vases with baubles and we also had a couple of fake plants that we hung small baubles on. The table looked fantastic!

  • Baubles, pine cones, lights or a combination in a vase or jar. Like in this photo :) There’s heaps on pinterest

  • Fresh flowers and native cuttings look wonderful on a table with some beautiful candles. The scent is heavenly and the glow from the candles is quite beautiful and sets a lovely mood.

  • Thank you for these suggestions. I particularly love the idea of baubles in a glass vase or bowl and contorting coat hangers/wire to make Christmas sculptures. Thanks again!

  • You could place some thick candles on a nice plate along with some christmas flowers (poinsettias etc). Most of those items can be purchased from the $2 shop.

  • In Google , there is a Utube of a child making a Christmas wreath from a wired coat hanger . She made it into a round shape wrapped coloured tinsels all around it , then decorated it with a bow and some other little items she found. Maybe you can turn a coat hanger into a mini Christmas tree ? See how you go , good luck .

  • We like baubles in a glass vase surrounded by flowers/leaves or fruit. If you want a cheap and cheerful table runner, use a bright scarf you never wear – they can look great on the table! A strip of Christmas paper also works well as a table runner.
