  • Hi, I don’t know of any gardens but an activity that my children love is drawing in shaving cream. Also playing with fairy/dragon eggs – those little balls that you put in water and they expand. A bowl of those balls is lovely to play with. As far as a garden – does the Botanic garden have a herb section. The one in Melbourne does. It is amazing to smell all the plants there :)

  • Hi I live in Adelaide Stirling has a beautiful sensory garden especially for preschool to 7 years in the Stirling old school its called the butterfly garden and is so beautiful you can’t help but feel, smell and explore this garden. It was created completely by volunteers and brings so much joy to the little people and big people that visit. I hope you have the opportunity to visit it!

  • Try googling “sensory activities”. You’ll get tons of results.

  • Hi,

the University of Adelaide Waite Precinct has a great sensory garden, especially the citrus trees.

And in Salisbury there are The Gums. Lamb’s ears are a great tactile experience.

Matthew o’Grady makes lots of sensory gardens in South Australia and Victoria on a “living library” model.
