Yes mould is damaging and unhealthy.

I’m really not sure how damaging mould can be, but it can be a health risk.

may be get a builder in to give you a clear idea of the size of the problem.

It will cause damage as the mould will eat away at the fibers under the tiles. Then it would be a huge job to fix! 🙁

Seems clove oil is a winner.

Mould is very bad for health, you definitely need to get rid of it.

If the area is not completely dry before applying the silicon mould will grow under neath it.
Clove oil kills the mould and does not just bleach it.

We have just found out the mold we have had growning on the wall of our bathroom and toilet is due a pipe in the bathroom is damaged and we now have to get the wall in both rooms replaced and the bathtap fixed. how annoying. if its just the area you fixed do what the others have suggested. but if it the roof you will have to look out what has caused it.

Remove the filler then use Oil of cloves to clean and rid the mould forever then refill

you should try exit mould and use it as per instruction and then replace the tile with a new one if the mould is not bad if it has spread through out the wall you will have to replace the plaster and I mean all of it

To my knowledge mould will not cause damage to the tiles. It is a fungus and affects people with asthma and like breathing problems. It’s unsightly and not something I want to share my bathroom with. Any water under silicone will turn mouldy, it has to completely dry out before and after the silicone is applied

You can’t leave mould, it will get worse.

Mould has to be removed as it is bad for health and it will continue to grow and grow.

You’d be surprised how often mould grows underneath silicone. Replacing a tile isn’t too hard, there’s plenty of videos online if you or your husband want to try, or a handyman could do it

Better to be safe than sorry

Kill the mould with clove oil. Oil of Clove removes mould by actually killing the spores, not just bleaching and hiding it! Mix 1/4 teaspoon of clove oil per 1 litre of water, spray on, leave 20 minutes and wipe off, spray on again and leave until mould dies and drops off (source: Shannon Lush)

definitely get rid of it, vinegar is good for mould

You should never leave mould, apart from looking unsightly it can cause health problems. The WA government have a mould fact sheet online, worth looking at because if the mould keeps coming back then you need to find out why – bad ventilation, too much condensation?
