Easter Meal Plans - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

I’ll be hosting a small Easter lunch this year, with less notice than I usually like to have to plan. What is everyone making for their Easter spread?
I’m thinking of roasting a chicken, easy to cook and serve, potato bake, a garden salad, and some sort of dessert. I’d love some inspo through your ideas and plans.

  • Love seeing what everyone else has on the menu! I’ve decided on an easy slow roasted lamb leg, individual potato gratins, roast and steamed veg, with a warm chocolate fudge cake for dessert. Hope everyone has a lovely Easter long weekend and indulges on all the good stuff; food, relaxation, family and happiness

  • Along with my comments below about a BBQ Easter; We did the shopping for our relatively fuss free food for Easter and surprisingly; the grocery bill for all of the items was much cheaper and is great saving for the family budget. We will enjoy having BBQ food and sides and desserts and having plenty of relax time.

  • We are moving away from a traditional Easter spread and going with BBQ foods and a selection of sides and desserts. We are keen to have a relaxed and fuss free lunch and for everyone to be very relaxed. We will be cooking kebabs and similar style foods that are easy to cook and eat.

  • This Easter having a simple roast chicken and slow cooked pulled lamb lemon-herb roasted potatoes, Greek salad, tzatziki served with pita bread. Carmel tart for dessert.

  • I am also going to be doing a lunch this year and will be roasting a chicken. For dessert, I am going to make a carrot cake for dessert. I am also considering buying hollow easter eggs and putting marshmallows and raspberries in them and melting chocolate over them for the kids to enjoy.

  • I always do a baked Leg of Lamb with all the extras when the family gets together because it’s a tradition that we’ve always stuck to.

  • I’ve never made a spread for Easter lunch as such, but as with hosting any lunch anything what you can prepare and pop in the oven can be handy. This can be as simple as roast potato, roast sweet corn on the cob, roast veggies, quiches and tarts with for example pumpkin onion and goats cheese, stuffed capsicum and stuffed mushrooms etc. A nice soup with a rustic bread does always well too. And super easy are of course slow cooker meals as well.
