Easter school treats - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

I am considering doing a small easter treat box for my daughter to give to her friends before they break for easter. Do other mums do this?

  • This is a really cute idea. I haven’t done it myself, but I recently saw a nice video idea for an ‘exploding Easter box’, where the box opens up and all the goodies pour out once you take the lid off. It wasn’t filled with anything particularly expensive, just some small choccies And a little Easter plush

  • I don’t do this – mostly because I’m terrified that every mum will and my kid will come home with 25 treat boxes on top of all the other chocolate floating around at easter! If you’re going to do this, I’d honestly keep it very small – a mini chocolate egg and/or something non edible.

  • If you’re considering her entire class as her friends, perhaps chat to the teacher about best options. If it’s just for a small group of close friends, that’s totally up to you if and when you give little gifts out. I’m sure your daughter would love to be involved with that too

  • Along with my comments already below; I agree with the other comments about checking for allergies. It is so essential to check for any possible allergies and also school rules about particular types of food that can be eaten at school. Importantly have fun creating gifts; Easter is such a creative time.

  • That sounds lovely! Just be sure when it comes to allergies etc. Sharing is caring and I’m sure your daughter would love treating her friends to some Easter treats. What would you make or buy? Would you gift the teacher too? I have never made Easter treats for school. I have done it for Christmas and it turned out well.

  • No it is not something I have ever done but a sweet idea. Lovely for the little kids that are missing out. I think I’d more likely just do this on Birthdays. Be aware of children with Allergies that can’t eat somethings and would be left out. Stick to non food things.

  • Not something that I ever did but its a lovely idea. Just make sure that all the kids in the class are included andperhaps try to stay away from chocolates and things like that as there are now so many children with various food allergies that it can be creating a problem to incljude foods.

  • We have always gone with Easter treats for others that are not chocolate treats. We have gone with stickers and cards and other fun items. This year we are going with colourful and fun bunny ears headbands. They will be fun for everyone and also everyone gets enough chocolate from their families and the Easter bunny!

  • No I haven’t made an Easter treat box for my daughter to share with her friends. My daughter is diary intolerant so these treats are also more expensive. I keep it more simple and buy a couple of bags of diary free chocolate bunnies (from Sweet William) for her to share with the whole class so nobody is left out
