Hello!

Can anyone suggest a good electronic game to buy for a 2 year old to use on the plane? I.e DS or leapfrog

  • Yes, we liked Leapfrog at that age too

  • You can’t be serious?! A 2 year old wouldn’t know how to use those kind of hand held games, they’ll just muck around til the batteries are flat

  • the y pad sounds good also

  • My 2 year old daughter loves her y-pad. It’s a cheap plastic toy that resembles an i-pad. Have even busted the other half playing with it. lol

  • leapfrog laptop or playskool computer .

  • A leappad is definitely the go, but can be expensive.

  • Interactive bear works really well as they teach counting and singing and are a cuddly comfort play toy.

  • For the same price as a DS, you might as well get a small tablet. Apps are either cheap or free, and you can have both educational games, and games just for fun. The added bonus is you can load their favourite movie or tv show on for them to watch and the screen is a much better size for viewing than a DS.

  • 3DS or DS would be ideal. The game Professor Layton would keep the kids happy :)

  • Iphone or ipad I think great choice for kids than leapfog. More choice of games for kids but educational too.

  • A mini ipad may seem a little overboard, but there are so many free apps that you could get as they like to flick through different games, there’s never enough.

  • Try google for age appropriate apps for kids, there are some great things for kids to play and learn at the same time!

  • I like leapfrog for this age group. Far more relevant activities to keep them entertained.

  • My daughter has a leap pad and it can be loaded with games, music and books

  • As kids are using iPads at school I would say get a mini iPad and down load some educational games ( they think they are are fun games)

  • I don’t think you can beat a tablet for a 2 year old. Most kids just seem to intuitively “get” how they work and there are so many good educational games available. We have had an iPad for pretty much all of Master 3’s life and he is an expert on it. I just every now and then search google for game recommendations for the age of my kids and I have found some very good programs so far for Miss 6 and Mstr 3. They can also watch movies and tv programs on it, so very handy for long trips or times I need to keep them quiet and occupied.

  • maybe download free apps on your phone or a tablet from kmart only $99 roughly there ok aswell if you can afford an ipad get one of those a lot easier or ipod

  • IPad mini…. We bought my daughter a leap pad tablet and tbh it was a waste of money – you have to purchase games we ended up buying a mini a couple of months later. apple have so many free apps suitable for children of all ages, and I converted all their favourite DVDs (movies and shows) and put them on the ipad so they can watch they’re favourites when they’ve had enough of games.

  • Before you buy something check with the airline what inflight entertainment they have. You might find this is enough. Even Jetstar has iPads you can use on board!

  • Leap Frog is great for educational things. Otherwise there are a lot of free apps on Android and iOS which can keep them entertained for hours!
