Hello!

I am writing this to find out if anyone else thinks they should have lived somewhere else. I live in Melbourne and do love it, but I cannot stand the weather. On days like today raining and cold you just want to have the heater on and stay inside. I would much rather be where the sun shines all year round. Does anyone else feel this way ?

  • We moved from NSW to Qld and love the weather here

  • Yes, I’m not enjoying the cold weather either. I’d much prefer to live somewhere a bit warmer too. The only thing holding us back is hubbys job

  • I used to wish I lived in Queensland for the warmer weather but as a I get older I find that I’m uncomfortable in the heat and am starting to prefer cooler climates.

  • When you’re not happy with where you live, what holds you back to move ?

  • Have you considered that if you lived in a state where the sun shone all the time, you would want to live where it rained and had cooler temps. At least you experience all four seasons in Victoria

  • We moved to Australia 10 years ago and have decided we will change states in the coming 1,5month.
I can imagine you think Melbourne is too cold, I wouldn’t be able to cope.

  • Life is too short so Stop procrastinating and just do it. It it doesn’t work out, then move again. More doing, less thinking.

  • I wish I had stayed in the same state as my family. We moved to where my partners family was, they’re all gone now and my mum is alone and aging in another state

  • Yes all the time! I can’t deal with qld humid summers. But at the same time I try to be grateful that we have warm weather to enjoy. I come from a cold climate and it was rare to have a sunny clear day outside.

  • Yeh sometimes. Family support keeps me living where we are, maybe one day we’ll try somewhere for a year or two just to know we really do want to stay here! I’d rent out our place and rent wherever we try

  • Born and raised tassie and I always say I was meant to live in qld. I hate the cold, but reality is that we would not leave the support of our families and we would only do our job Here… so depending on what the kids do we may move states when we retire

  • We live in Sydney and though it great, crowds and traffic is terrible . Just to much rush rush .

  • I’ve never wanted to live in another state. The weather in NSW is pretty good and I’m happy being near people and places I know.

  • I lived in WA, moved to Tas. Kids on the mainland. Would love to change states

  • Sure the weather in Melbourne is cold in Winter, yet it’s a fantastic city and l love living here.

  • All my friends moved to Brisbane, I miss them like crazy and would love to have settled in qld.
But I need my mum and family more here in NSW

  • Oh yes I do ,living south does get cold .But good & bad in any state ,,tropical weather is hard too .Takes getting use to .

  • I lived in QLD for a year and I’d go back in a second if my partner got a job offer ( we are in WA)

  • im in perth and id rather the cooler Melbourne weather lol
perth is boring! Melbourne has everything. be happy with what you got I guess

  • Oh yes, I do! I despise winter. I grew up in Victoria and now live in South Australia. I desperately want to move to a warmer climate. It would be so beneficial for my physical and mental health. I get depressed every winter and stay indoors not moving. Summer time I’m active and cheerful, more productive, more social and a lot more fun to be around. It just doesn’t seem to make sense to spend a third of my life feeling like this.
