  • Regular waking is a great way. Put in your head phones and listen to a podcast or music.

  • Walking is my favourite and for the whole body swimming is a must!

  • If you’re new to exercise, start off with slow and simple. Long walks, introducing hills after a while. Then put in some jogging. Yoga is good. And you need weights to tighten and tone

  • I have always found walking the best and easiest exercise to keep up..
    Good luck. :)

  • Ithere’s an app called 7 minutes! It’s amazing gives you a 7 minute workout. I do it 2-3 times a day. :) morn noon and night. :) you can also get an app called belly workout. :)

  • Do what ever you like! dance, swim, run hop around like a fool with your kids! Personally i believe developing good core strength is the way to go along with high intensity cardio and short interval training!

  • depends if you want to lose weight or tone or both

  • I found that using the cross trainer or swimming is very good exercise for losing weight and staying fit!

  • Get a skipping rope. Hang it on or near the back door of your house. And every time you go out the back door, grab the skipping rope and skip vigorously for 5 minutes. You will be surprised at how often you use it, and just how well it works. It’s great for working legs and arms, and it’s a great cardio workout. Before you know it, you’ll be skipping for longer and longer, and you’ll definitely see results. Good luck!

  • thanks everyone for the input.. i have tried to loose weight but failed due to getting sick and couldnt bring myself to do it again i have no idea why but hopeing to start up again soon :)

  • Have u tried a personal trainer?

  • Some good advice there below.

  • Start easy with some walking and some squats/push up reps. Even starting with five of each and a 10 minute walk around the block will get you going. Build on that each day and set weekly goals of what you want to be able to do.

  • Always do cardio, for at least 30 minutes, cycling, running, swimming- then toning exercise crunches, lunges, squats at least 10-15 and repeat three times, eat less sugar, less carbs and what ever you do don’t do the shakes they work great until you stop them it comes back and more

  • For me personally I needed a physical thing to motivate me. I can’t afford a fit bit, jawbone etc. So I purchased a 2nd hand polar FT4 watch with heart rate monitor, I strap it on every day and get going. I have a elliptical machine (given to me) and I now run 20 minutes in the morning nd 20 minutes in the evening. I’ve also downloaded “my fitness pal” on my android phone and I log all my meals. Doing this is great, as you don’t have to eliminate foods. I just go by my allowed calories. For instance I have 1200 calories a day, then they add your workouts to it and it just minuses the foods I eat off. I don’t call it a diet, as diets you do and come off then go back, I call it a lifestyle change, as you are changing your lifestyle for good for the better too. I’d be happy to help if you’d like a email buddy so we can chat about what inspires us etc, my email is vidots@gmail.com

  • I started losing weight 6 months ago for my upcoming prophylactic breast cancer surgery in March.
I downloaded some apps on my g-pad and they helped alot. I then joined a gym, which is hard for me due to my anxiety but I have been doing so well. I go by myself almost everyday.
I started just using the treadmill for 30 mins, walking 20, running for 10. Then I would use the bike and cross trainer. I started watching others and copying them. I cant afford a personal trainer so I use apps and youtube for help and then read the gym equipment for what it does and how to use it. Slowly Im finding what is working for me in spots I need to improve. Its also easy to get weights at home and do walking lunges, squats, arm work outs etc. Drink lots of water, keep meals light. eat more daily but fruit, nuts and super foods, smoothies are good and you can get ideas off the net. Ive lost 11kgs in 6 months and my aim is 15 by march for my surgery. Best of luck

  • I walk daily as I can take the toddler and fit it in around school for my oldest two. I also swim laps once a week and find that is really good for fitness and toning. and I saw changes to my body quite quickly once I started swimming regularly. I also like it as it’s refreshing and “me’ time, and I can get a little bit of sanity back :)

  • Start with cardio, walking with a few boast of running every now and then to get the heart rate up to burn more calories. Lifting weights is also really good, I love kettle bell work outs you can buy a kettle bell and YouTube some workouts to do at home.

  • I find walking great as I can’t do many other exercises (due to a hernia), also boxing and some bikram yoga,(not that I am able to do any more), but found when I could worked wonders

  • walk walk walk. walk everywhere you can the more the better. I found that after about a month the kilos were dropping off of me. Yoga is meant to be really good as well. So maybe invest in a WII or xbox kenect they have lots of games aimed at helping you tone up and lose weight and you can do it in your own home so that if you feel a bit uncomfortable with exercising and not wanting people to see you you wont have to worry about that. good luck x
