Hello!

So I’m 37 with six daughters. My eldest is 19 years old and just told me she’s pregnant. The thing is my husband and I have just found out we are adding another bundle of joy to our family. How do I tell my 16, 13, 12, 4 and 2 year olds they are going to be big sisters again as well as Aunties? Any advice would be helpful! I am so worried!

  • My mum was 41 when she had my l little brother. I remember vividly our parents sitting us down as a family and announcing the news. As a 13 year old, I was so excited and pleased as was my 11 year old sister. My brother was 16 and not fussed either way.

  • That’s a good idea mom 101629

  • If your eldest daughter would like, why don’t you tell your other children together. It might be easier that way all round.

  • I would talk to your pregnant daughter first and ask how she’d like you to tell them.

  • Echo what Ellen here said, spot on!

  • Aw that’s actually very exciting ! First of all congratulations ! I can imagine this could give a lovely bond between you and your eldest. In regards to how to share it with your tweens, I would just have an open conversation and be mindful that their response not directly may be all excited. Acknowledge their feelings and try to understand them.
