Some really lovely ideas and ways of celebrating here! I hope everyone had a fabulous day. I love the local hamper gift. I live in a different town to my family and love making that for them as gifts. And sourdough is such a cool hobby. I’d love to benefit from my husband getting into that haha
By father’s day we had a very new addition to the family, just 2 weeks old, so I couldn’t get any photos printed that would include him too. In the lead up I bought two story books, one from each child, and wrote a small message in each. He loved them and my toddler has wanted to read them 3 nights in a row saying “happy father’s day” each time. A win!

We visit home-made stalls around our area buying Jams, Chutneys, Marinades, Honey, Cakes and Slices as well as fresh veggies like Garlic and Herbs. Jars of home-made Tomato Sauce with infused basil or Olive Oil also infused with herbs are great. I make up baskets of these foods as well as cheese and nuts. These gift baskets with a few beer cans or Ginger Beer and some crackers is well received.

Yes I do like the gift of experience very much too. And absolutely a nice bottle is very much appreciated too. My husband is from Northern Ireland so I like to buy him a nice whiskey, but I may hint my son to buy him that and buy some other presents myself. I’ve bought already some sports clothing and thought to add some sports shoes

Yessss! This is the same for me! My hubby says ‘don’t buy me anything’ it’s the same every year lol. So we go with undies and a pyjama mostly, maybe take him out fishing for the day if it’s appropriate. I think it’s best to keep it small and simple otherwise it gets too stressful trying to think of something every year. We mostly tried to keep it to whatever the kids had made or purchased from the store (a mug etc)

When dads are hard to buy for, sentiment wins every time! Handmade keepsake crafts from a baby and toddler like canvas handprint/footprint art, a customized photo mug, or a personalized photo book of his year with the kids are always total tear-jerkers that he will treasure forever for many years to come.

My husband is into trying Sourdough baking so I bought him a kit with all sorts of wonderful accessories to go with. One of the kids bought him a really good Sourdough baking Cook Book (well I hope it’s good). Another has bought him tickets to a Sourdough baking Class and lined up his mate to get tickets for father’s day too.

i think an experience is always a good idea. my husband also doesn’t really want anything much aside from PS games. but a nice day we can have together/activity to do as a family is always special.

Sadly, my father is no longer with us, but socks and singlets were the go-to gifts when we were children. These days, I think a nice bottle of port would have been appreciated.

When my now older kids were at primary school I gave them money to buy something at the father days stall and lol, they came often home with the most random things, but hey it’s about the gesture. I often buy a card where in all of us writes or draw something and I would buy some more presents myself. I always try to keep my eyes and ears open for things my husband would like and appreciate or something funny & hilarious.
