  • Our small little beach town has a fabulous water play park that is free and open throughout the summer. Our toddler has just had his second trip there today and loved it. Its right by a park so we can play first then walk over. Then there’s the beach as an option too.

  • I looked up a few local forest walks that were only about 30 – 50 minutes away from where i live. We have some beautiful walk trails in WA and i want to get my child out n nature a lot more these school holidays and with all the rain we have had, the water is flowing so some of the forest trails have water falls etc that get the kids excited.

  • In addition to the holiday activity suggestions listed in my comment below; the other thing we like to do is for everyone to come up with a new idea for an outing or an activity. We have ended up doing some interesting things and also visiting some different places. Maybe let the imagination about ideas and activities flow.

  • We love to do whatever is on the wish list that is still sitting on it and we do it! There is more free time in the holidays to do things that are fun for all. We love the outdoors and swimming and nature. We also love movies and books and anything creative and fun. We also love to explore the local area, new places and day trips are such fun.

  • We had a staycation with the kids – took them to stay at a hotel in the city for a few nights. Explored, tried new things, rode of trams and just had a relaxing time by the pool. We do this once a year as a treat. When we are at home, we try to have activities for them like bracelet making and drawing!

  • We love getting out and about in general. Bikes around the river, playgrounds, etc. But our favourite is splash parks at the pool. We Switch between sliding and playing in the splash Park to swimming, diving, kicking and rolling in the water. The best thing is it really tires him out and we can have a few hours of quiet time at home afterwards!

  • My kids love a trip to the library. Even if there are no specific activities on, they regard it as a treat! They also like it if I take them out one on one – obviously this requires someone to be around for the others – for a cup of hot chocolate and a mum chat.
