  • I love Frieda’s books – just finished ‘The Locked Door’.
I have read Housemaid (before watching the movie) and The Widow’s Husband’s Secret Lie.
I have the remaining in the Housemaid series to read and a couple more of her stand alone books.
Christian White has a few good books – recent one being The Long Night (just got it, yet to read).

  • I’ve only read The Intruder and The House Maid. I enjoyed the House Maid more than The Intruder. I find her books are an easy read and quite enjoyable. I’m in the middle of a reading Challenge for 2026 on Good Reads and would highly recommend that App in keeping track of books you have read. It helps me remember the titles when I want recommend one. lol

  • I’ve got one of her books in my TBR pile. If you like thrillers, try Jane Harper, Sarah Bailey, or Dervla McTeirnan. They’re all fantastic, all Australian (although not all their books are set in Australia), and all have a few books in print. I really highly,y recommend them. Give them a try!

  • I haven’t read any books by Freida McFadden yet, but I do love a good thriller, so I’ll definitely keep an eye out for her novels. I’m always on the lookout for gripping stories that keep me guessing right to the very last page. i really enjoyed The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins and The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn.

  • My youngest daughter gave me The Housemaid by Fredia McFadden to read during the christmas school break and it was awesome. I now want to get the other books in the series. She also has a new book out called Dear Debbie which you might want to get if you havent read it as yet.

  • Thanks for your tip ! I haven’t heard of the writer Frieda McFaddon and can very much appreciate a good thriller. As far recommendations it depends a little bit on the style you prefer. You have for example the Orphan X Series by Gregg Hurwitz: which features a former government assassin. Mitch Rapp Series by Vince Flynn: is an intense political and assassin thriller too. Or you may prefer the Jack Reacher Series by Lee Child: which has fast-paced action. Also good are the Rizzoli & Isles Series by Tess Gerritsen: which are a medical thriller/detective mix.

  • I have read so many of them! They are always a nice, easy read with good twist and turns. I’ve also loved the Fourth Wing series for something completely different, Colleen Hoover books, Rose Carlyle (The Girl in the Mirror and No One Will Know).
