It depends on your circumstances, sometimes just to keep your career going it is worth it aside from the money but that is an individual decision. How many children you have that need childcare and your income are also factors.

Personally, it was definitely worth it because my weekly income was more than what we pay for childcare. There are also some centres that give you a discount if you have enrolled your children full time, so that makes it a bit more cost-effective as well. Other than the monetary aspect, another thing to look at is whether going back part-time would be a hindrance to your career progression. If yes, then it does make sense to go back full time I’d say, but if not, we found that a 4 day work week provided the perfect balance.
