  • At that age I did all the traditional party games at the BD parties. It’s nice and cheap and the kids will have fun anyway. One year later I bought cheap basic t’shirt and everyone got to design their own shirt with textile markers and paint. That was a big hit too.

  • One colour scheme kids 5 or 6 y.o. party we had, after we had had Pin the Donkey’s Tail and the birthday girl opened her presents then because a couple of the kids who were a bit older had a sports game to play in had to leave early, the kids decided they wanted to have some of the balloons to hit across to the other kids. They were having so much fun I had to call a halt to it for them to eat, then cut the birthday cake. We had another game planned for afterwards. They didn’t even wait to see what it was. The balloons were “flying” again. We put aside some brithday for those who had to leave early.

  • Great! There really interesting comments on this!

  • Pass the parcel is always a favourite. Pinatas are enjoyed by most also. If she’s into dancing, how about musical chairs? Place the chairs randomly around (not in your usual circle) and get the kids to dance around til the music stops.

  • Just the usual pass the parcel, musical chairs, donut eating comp, bobbing apples

  • disco in the garage with dimmed lights and a disco ball. The Hokey Pokey, Statues. Karaoke. Other than that I think traditional games are great for age 5, pin the tail on the donkey – you could change it to pin the microphone on the singer or something musical like that? musical chairs, sack race, egg and spoon race, apple bobbing, piñata. Have a great day!

  • I’m old school, pass the parcel, musical chairs that sort of thing.

  • Hope you had a good pink birthday party. I always wanted one for my daughter but she always had other suggestions.

  • there are some good comments here

  • Hope all went well for the party

  • In hope she had a great 5th birthday!

  • I hope the party was great :)

  • the old game of freeze used to be fun or you can do dance karoke

  • Hope the party went well.

  • How did your party end up going?

  • pass the parcel – always a favourite with the kids (they love surprises) also making lolly necklaces :)

  • An doughnut eating contest is a lot of fun, the doughnuts are tied to the clothesline with string and the kids try to eat the doughnuts with their hands kept behind their backs. Lots of fun. This can be done between dances. Take your daughter to the cheap shop and pick out some little prizes, children love to win something.

  • Pass the parcel of maybe some craft activities, or a good old egg and spoon race.

  • What did you end up choosing?

  • Musical Statues, Musical Chairs etc.
