Gaming ideas - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

Technology and kids is almost unavoidable these days so I’d love to know of any games parents recommend and why. It can be educational, creative, or some other reason
Any age is fine!
Thanks

  • My daughter loves games and I let her play them but i do keep a close watch on what she is playing. I have no issues with her playing Roblox as she tends to play things like dress to impress and Adopt me. They give them a change to be creative. My daughter also has the babie app and Bluey app, all of these are really good for small kids. I also know a few parents who let there kids play Minecraft.

  • I actually don’t mind my kids using Minecraft. It can allow kids to explore creatively. My children have been really proud to show me some of the amazing designs they’ve built and it blows my mind. The key is to having the right settings and mode particularly dependant on their age. You can have creative or peaceful mode just focussed on building without monsters etc and have a private world rather than a public server.

I would avoid roblox at all costs as it is well known to be used by predators.

Commonsense media provide good reviews and articles about games as well as movies, books etc to assess whether it is right for your child.
