Hello!

How to get smells out of the washing machine? – A few years ago I washed my polishing cloths in my front loader washing machine after cleaning, conditioning and polishing my lounge suite. Problem: the terrible smell still lingers I have tried leaving the door open after each wash, using vinegar and lemon and CLR through an empty wash. Looking forward to suggestions.

  • I do a drum clean regularly and I also use pino clean anti bacterial in each wash and sometimes do a machine clean with pino clean machine wash, maybe try thay or use a thing called nil odour you just sprinkle a drop or 2 and smells disappear.

  • Run an empty cycle with one cup of vinegar in the water and no detergent.

  • I’ve always used vinegar and tea tree oil. Good luck

  • I rinse my machine out by adding white vinegar to a hot wash cycle. Let it run through the cycle without clothes. But it seems you may have already tried this

  • Try bleach in a normal cycle with no clothes in it but check with the manufacturers first.

  • Hot cycle with bleach, cold cycle with vinegar, that should do it :)

  • I also use white vinegar and bi-carb – it really does work!

  • wow! a few comments back– using coconut milk! amazing tip

  • White vinegar in cold wash.

  • trish, have you ever left the machine full of hot water and i almost hate to say this, thinners.next day empty,do an empty load with disenfectant and washing powder, and coconut milk, sounds crazy i know, buut my hubby has been a hands on guy and you won’t hurt the machine and you’ve got nothing to lose.you wouldn’t believe some of the solutions he’s come up with and i’ve though, yeh, right, and he usually is.good luck!!

  • A splash of vinegar and lemon!

  • A hot cycle with eucalyptus oil, and check and clean all filters and hoses

  • White vinegar and lemon with hot water and run a cycle.

  • replace all of the filters as the smell might be in them

  • i use bi carb and vinegar every fortnight to keep our clean

  • Run a hot wash with a litre of vinegar. It should get rid of the smell.

  • Oh also check the lint filter it could have build up

  • Do a wash just water … cold with Vinegar and Bi-carb

  • there are some good comments here

  • You should get someone to look at it…
