Vouchers to surf shops, sport shops or JB HIFI seem to go well. Drink bottles especially Stanley or Yeti (might be a bit over your budget though) are very popular. Movie tickets and a tub of popcorn or some Maltesers could be another option or if they are into gaming, vouchers or gaming memorabilia would be another alternative

I would honeslty just give them money, and that way they pick something themselves or choose to save it up.

Boys can be so hard to buy for, I personally would by them a gift card or a voucher to an experience like timezone, movies etc this way they can do what they want with the voucher or go do the activity when it suits them and perhaps with their friends.

All kids are different and it really depends on the child.
My son at that age liked (and still likes) jigsaws, Lego (especially cool race car from Lego), books, Pokemon card and games, computer games, a high quality soccer or basket ball, basketball hoop, a high quality torch. When unsure what interest the boys have you intend to buy a gift for you could ask their parent or alternatively you can’t go wrong with a gift card for EB Games, Movie gift card or good old cash in a nice personally written card.

We really do love to buy gifts for birthdays and Christmas that promote being outside and being physical with outdoor recreational activities. There are plenty of affordable gift packs with bats and balls, racquets and balls, frisbees, tents, a variety of fun outdoor games. It is good to promote balance and get children to enjoy the outdoors and exercise.

If you have any idea what games they are in to you can get some good copies of second hand games at EB Games. Or if you know the console they use you can get them a gift card to go towards a game or online membership. Or just a regular gift card. It’s an age where it’s fun to have that freedom to buy something special
