Hello!

My baby girl is turning 1 in March, and I’m not sure what to get her. I was thinking about a swing set, but wanted some ideas? Any suggestions would be great!

  • Making note of these suggestions for myself in 6 months time!

  • A swing set is a great idea – she will hopefully use it for many years to come!! Little ones tend to love bouncing also so a trampoline may be a good investment.

  • cubby house? dolls pram, mini kitchen

  • I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. I got my daughter a rocking giraffe, some books, some clothes, and some other toys. I tried not to go too crazy because I knew my family would spoil her and her birthday is only a couple of months before Christmas.

  • I found that just after one they begin to like books and toys that challenge them abit just after one

  • We got our daughter a trike, she still plays on it now (just turned 3).

  • Looking long term I think a swing set is a great idea or a cubby house is another great long term idea

  • Toys suitable for her age, a play gym even toy kitchen sets which she can clang together, but will work out what they are for at a later age.

  • A little play gym

  • Little toys are a great idea. My daughter loves the rattles. Anything noisy lol

  • Welcome to the world of having children. Just wait until she gets older when she has everything. It only gets harder every year.

  • they are some excellent comments here :)

  • I found that I was buying so much for my LO before he turned one that he would’ve thought he was having a birthday every week. I don’t think they understand the concept of birthdays at that age so just buy something that you think she’ll play with.

  • A swing set with a seat suitable for her age, also a seat for older children, we found this useful. We added a slide the next Christmas.

  • there are some good comments here

  • i got my daughter a swing set when she was 2 but she didnt like it as much as i though she would maybe get her that plastic slide thing thats like a cubby house too

  • Just get a few smaller item or 1 larger ones. Kids have no idea ta that age. If they have just started to work, maybe a pram to push along or a Cyclops 3 wheeler

  • i always tend to buy presents for the next stage for my kids. If you are having a party no doubt you are going to get a lot of presents from friends and family which will be great for the stage they are in now but a present for the next stage will mean they have something later on to play with before the next birthday or christmas comes along.

  • A toy kitchen!! So much fun for all ages! My daughter is 6 and still plays with hers, so does her little brothers who are 1 and 4

  • they don’t need big toys at that age, just a family party, nice cake and a few smaller gifts and as suggested by other lots of photo’s.
