Hello!

We’ve been invited to a friend’s daughters 1st birthday in 2 weeks time. She is the 3rd little girl of the family. The 3 girls have absolutely everything you can imagine and then some so I am super stuck for gift ideas!! Can anyone please help??

  • Most one year olds love animals! I’d say a zoo or aquarium trip/pass or even farm/wildlife tickets. I always find experiences are a great alternative when kids have too much “stuff”

  • Something personalized like a bracelet or photo frame with her name engraved on it would be special.

  • I think a nice day out would be fun. Take her to a kids day spa or even just to the movies!

  • An experience is always good

  • cute headband or dress. a toy. she might have lots of girly stuff but she needs HER own girly stuff lol :)

  • It you are any good at craft things a personalized cross stitch or something like that would be nice and as you have made it they can’t already have one.

  • I’m liking mom160421 and mom90758 suggestions. Normally when hard to buy for I like to go with craft packs but 1yr old is not quite old enough for craft I feel.

  • I know people exactly the same!! Gift buying is impossible! I tend to buy what i think is appropriate anyway and know that what I give will probably be dismissed, doubled up on or not overly appreciated. But Books are great. Kids cant have enough books. A book with a message written inside? A book you or your kids loved as babies? Or some nice bookends? Could even get them engraved for 1st bday.

  • buy a nice little keepsake they can keep on a shelf and pass to her as she gets older

  • Buy as you would for any other child – it should make no difference. :)

  • At the age of 1 maybe a book for the future with some hand written words.

  • Sounds like something consumable could be a good idea – whether that be jumbo crayons and paper, some fun or interesting bubble bath. She will be happy with it no matter what it is – especially if wrapped up in paper and then a layer of cellophane – that always engages tiny ones curiosity.

  • Oh no, what a predicament, can’t think of much worse then having to buy for a kid who has too much. Open a bank account for her??

  • What about a personalized book? For example at identitydirect.com.au you can find different ideas.

  • What about a voucher for a family photo or baby portraits?

  • I would buy her a little brooch or bracelet – the ones that you can have the child’s name engraved on it. Then it will be just hers and something she can keep.
