We fall back on our favourite bottle of wine as a general rule (Pink sparkling) but when in doubt you can’t go wrong with flowers or a decoration for the tree.

A pot plant if they have a garden, a bottle of wine if they drink, box of chocolates lol, or a gift basket of gourmet food or bath and pamper items.

Something homemade like truffles or cookies.
Or something to like wine even handmade pot holders or tea towels are nice.

Some exquisite chocolates or cookies wrapped in a linen tea towel is a lovely gift to give or receive for that matter!!!

Flowers, a bottle of wine to share over dinner, a plate of something homemade like fudge, rumballs or Christmas biscuits. Sometimes a beautiful thankyou case might suit.

Not to bring a thing is the worst how about a mini bouquet of either flowers or food they have some awesome ones with flowers really (chocolates).

At Christmas time we always bring a plate of home made short bread and Christmas goodies like rum balls, fudge and ginger bread. We have a baking day prior to Christmas, make lots and then have beautiful plates to give as gifts. They have always been received with much appreciation.

I would bring a Poinsettia or some Christmas food, for example the Italian Pandoro or Panettone.

At this time of year, you could donate to a charity on behalf of your guest. (Eg wishing tree or other children’s christmas charity) If there are going to be children there, you could bring along a movie or game for the children to play. If all else fails, jaut offer to do the washing up!
