Hello!

I have 3 children in kindy / pre-school & every year we buy or make the teachers presents. In the past we have done a huge fruit box between them, peppermint bath salts, chocolates, shortbread cookies…

I’m after some ideas for quick (given Christmas is only 4 weeks away) & inexpensive (there are at least 12 teachers) gifts.

Also ideas for a leaving gift from my pre-schooler- Last time I gave some toys for the pre-school room.

  • Maybe you could make them something to eat for afternoon tea like a grazing box of some sort with cheese, ham, crackers and the like. Or you could do a dessert one with cut up waffles, chocolate, marshmallows fruit etc.

  • Maybe Christmas tree ornaments/baubles that are personalised with the teacher’s name.

  • I think biscuits are a good idea.

  • With 12 teachers , there are endless small gifts these days . You can buy small box of biccies or chocolates each, or put them in small mesh gift bags that come in different colours from the bargain shops . These bags come in so handy any time of year when there is a unexpected birthday or any occasions etc…

  • When my daughter was in pre-school, we had five teachers we wanted to buy gifts for. I ended up buying packets of wafer biscuits (Aldi sells them for only 55 or 59 cents each packet). Each teacher got three packets with varying flavours (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or hazelnut). I can’t imagine anyone would say no to three packets of wafer biscuits.

  • With 12 teachers why don’t you make them a cupcake each?
I’m sure they will enjoy the treat!
Otherwise you could buy them a scented candle, chocolates or a coffee mug.
Your a very kind soul purchasing for all 12 teachers!
From your pre-schooler I think again you could go with cupcake, scented candle, chocolates, coffee mug or could go with your previous gift of toys.

  • Gosh, you’re keen, presents for teachers…..12 of them! Why? I understand if your child has an exceptional year with a certain teacher, you would want to say thank you and show appreciation for their hard work. But not simply for just being a teacher. I’m sure if the child just writes in a card, shouldn’t that be enough?

  • Home made shortbread is always a winner :-)

  • I find a large box of chocolates, a cake or something else that could be shared by the staff for morning tea goes down well as everyone can have someone and you’re not singling out any particular carers. As for the present for leaving preschool why not a nice painting or decoration they can put in their staff room.

  • plants, just get some seedlings and pot them up they look great and are different

  • There’s not too many people who don’t like or use photo-frames, and you can get some really nice ones for only a few dollars. Or if you want to get your kids involved in them, buy some plain unvarnished wooden photo frames, a hot-glue gun, and go down to the beach and pick up a big variety of shells, from tiny to medium size. Then you can glue them to the photo frames, and bingo, a personalized gift that will be unique.

  • Chocolates are easy and always appreciated, teachers get so many presents they can always re gift them if they want to as well ;)

  • what did you end up doing

  • there are some good comments here

  • I love coffee mugs that say “best teacher” or similar.

  • Some good advice there below.

  • As a preschool teacher I can say that I cherish all the gifts the children give no matter what they are,a card that has comments from family or writing from the child is a gift that is treasured just as much if not more then a gift. It shows how much of an effect I have had on that child.

  • I hope you found something lovely.

  • Homemade cards, flower pots, bracelets…

  • I hope you found something great :)
