Hello!

I’m a single mum and will have my 5 and 8 yo with me on my birthday. I am trying to think of places to go that the children will enjoy themselves, but so will I too! Any suggestions would be great.

  • Lots of indoor play area’s have a nice cafe where you could sit with a nice book and treat yourself on something; even nicer when you bring a friend or loved one to hang out with yourself.

  • We always like a restaurant that has play equipment

  • Perhaps a movie. Or even a pub/birsto, i know some have children play equipment. Even a park where there are bbq facilities and a playground.

  • What about a picnic in a park with facilities for the kids to have fun and you can bring other kids to join you as well. Or if you like something fancier and nice restaurant where they accept young children and sometimes they even hand out pencils and crafty items for them to be amused while you eat at the same time .

  • park at the beach- free and play equipment
    water park
    beach
    mcdonald do kid parties
    playhouse

  • Go to a winery. My 7 year old and 5 year old love our local wineries. They climb tree’s and hay bales. We take a footy along and all have a kick, or a Frisbee. Ring ahead and see what they have there, some have totem tennis, bocce, swing sets, fortes, cubby houses, treasure hunts, fauna reserve. They kids will love getting out and among the great outdoors exploring while you relax with a wine. You can play with them or let them play by themselves. Happy birthday!

  • A bistro that has play centre type equipment is always good.

  • there are some clubs that have playgroounds these days and nice meals, or you could go to a park that has a playground and just relax

  • maybe look into restaurants with play things in or something you all enjoying doing together movies etc

  • Well what do you like to do? My m um and I would go to the pool as a family which was lots of fun, also organsing a park date with one of your friends is lots of fun

  • A trip to the zoo or lunch at a restaurant that has a kids area.

  • A play centre is a good idea, feeding the ducks, having a picnic or aquarium, maybe a zoo

  • I’ve really enjoyed making my birthday cake with my daughter…it is inexpensive to do and lots of fun.

  • I love to take my girls to the free waterpark, we pack a picnic and have so much fun all day going up and down the slides, and the kids are knackered at the end so a quick fish and chips, shower and bedtime, nice cheap enjoyable day!

  • My kids & I love going out to the movies or a games arcade.

  • It sounds like some great suggestions here, i hope you have a great time!!!

  • Depending on what state you live in, but Pancakes on the rocks is a great family friendly venue.. Also believe it or not the Coffee club also really looks aft kids too

  • if your in Melbourne see a movie at Lunar Drive In Dandenong – carload for $25 – massive popcorn is $6 – free arcade games in the cafe – have a picnic on the grass before the movie- you can bring your own food in as well

lots of pubs have awesome indoor playgrounds and mid week deals or kids eat free nights

on school holidays kids are free at Melbourne Zoo

  • My children enjoyed a roller skating party at kemizo I purchased half price through cudo. Indoor would be better because its getting into the colder weather, im sure they will have a great day!

  • Bowling is always fun kids love bowling and then maybe a nice lunch/dinner somewhere
