I bought mine a few years back now. I got a fridge/freezer. I chose one that had the freezer at the bottom (more expensive) but the freezer is used less than the fridge so I didn’t want to bend down everytime I wanted something from the fridge.
We bought an upside down haier 450L from appliances online the bottom crispers drive me crazy the door has to be fully open to use them they stick if not pushed in from both sides evenly and the 450L is actually 387 of storage space so it ended up smaller than my previous fridge and I thought I was getting more space I searched everywhere for that info supplier and manufacturers sites so was confident it was 450L of storage but was disappointed on delivery otherwise the fridge is ok but I would probably save the extra $ and buy a top mount in future
Don’t forget to check out buy sell swap pages. Sometimes people have to move overseas and can’t take electricals with them – you may pick something up cheaply. Double check a review on Choice magazine
They seem to have different features too. Work out what you are wanting.
Things that I thought were important were;
Heaps of room for vegetables.
Drawers over shelves
No water dispenser (we don’t need this)
Ease of cleaning (less grooves, fiddly bits etc.
Not plastic hinges or hinge parts on the doors
High star rating
Country of manufacture (I try to buy locally or as close to)
Fridge over the top of the freezer.
Silver/Stainless steel/white
I hope this helps
Good luck
I have a new samsung single door fridge with a water dispenser that isnt plumbed in. I love it so much its so well thought out. on the bottom shelf you can fold it back when something is to tall and its really very spacious. i would definately buy it again
We recently bought the Samsung double door fridge/freezer. One of the reasons we chose this fridge was that one of the freezers can be changed to be used as a fridge for peak times like around christmas. It’s such a great fridge and has so many features and just functions really well
We bought a Westinghouse, trying to support Aussie made. 2 months and it stopped cooling down. Got a replacement, 6 months later it was freezing up. Got a refund. 6 months after that and it’s running perfect again
